August TBR

Hello everyone!

Today I’m bringing to you all my August TBR! This TBR is a bit ambitious, especially since I have to spend the majority of this month studying for my nursing certification test, but I think that I can somehow do it!

There is a lot to talk about for this post, so I’m just going to jump right into it!

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath ☼
This is a novel I picked up from Indigo for a whopping $3 in a beautiful edition. I don’t really know much about this novel other than the fact that everyone loves it and it’s a classic. I need to start reading more classics and getting out of my comfort zone. This is only the start of my classics!

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han ☼
This is a novel that I should have read a long while ago. I have a new found rush to read this book because of the Netflix adaptation coming out as well as everyone’s raving about the novel. Can’t wait to fall in love with this story!

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan ☼
This is another novel that I should have read a while ago. Due to the exciting movie coming out in August, I really want to read the novel before the movie comes out!

The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E Pearson ☼
I started this series a while ago but just have not had time to finish it up. Now that Dance of Thieves is coming out, it’s finally time to finish off this series so I can enjoy her new novel without having anything that needs to be done!

A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir ☼
This novel is one that I’ve been so very excited to pick up. I did a re-read of the first two novels before picking this one up, but now that I’m here I’m so excited to see how everything goes down. I am currently reading this novel and enjoying it immensely, I’m definitely going to take my time to enjoy the process and story.

Mirage by Somaiya Daud ☼
This novel is coming out on August 28th and I have been waiting very patiently to pick this novel up just in time for it to come out! This story sounds like a really fantastic science fiction adventure. It’s also pretty awesome to see some POC representation in this novel and I’m so psyched to see how I like it!

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang ☼
This novel is one that I started in July but wasn’t able to fully finish, so I have dragged it into August. I am thoroughly enjoying the process of listening to the audiobook for this novel and it’s definitely unlike anything I’ve read before. I love the action and magical elements.

Dance of Thieves by Mary E Pearson ☼
This is another novel that I have been (im)patiently waiting to pick up in time for it’s release date! This novel actually comes out on August 7th, so not too much longer left to wait for it, and I’m sure that it’s going to be amazing, especially if Mary E Pearson is the author!

The Forest Queen by Betsy Cornwell ☼
This is another ARC that I have been wanting to pick up, and it’s one that I’m so very excited to pick up now that it’s coming out soon! This novel is also coming out on August 7th, so I definitely do have a lot of reading to finish this week!

That concludes my August TBR! 9 books for August is a bit ambitious, but I think I can somehow swing it!

Thank you so much for reading and don’t forget to follow my blog as well as my other social media sites!

Until next time,

  1. I just read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before last month and I loved it! It really is pretty refreshing and not too teenage-y if that makes sense? Not that it’s bad since its YA but you know haha I hope you’ll love it too!
