This novel was one I was highly anticipating due to the cliffhanger of the previous novel, but I was really surprised to find out that this novel took place 10 years after what occurred in the previous novel!

I was happy to find out that throughout the novel the 10 years are given a lot of detail as the book goes back and forth between the past and present.

Personally, despite being happy that I got to see what occurred in those 10 years, I am not a huge fan of flashback chapters. I don’t like having to jump back and forth between times and moments, so that didn’t really make me love this novel as much as the previous two.

It was a bit disappointing to see how slow and quiet this novel was. I did definitely enjoy the ending, it held a lot of action, but most of the novel didn’t, so it made it quite boring.

I do think this novel had a large “wrap up novel” feel and it definitely felt like it way tying all the information together. A lot of the boring moments came from not having as much to look forward to and the absence of some of my favourite characters, but like I said previously, it was able to conclude the story incredibly well for me.

I hope we have more from this world coming, or maybe even a new world with a similar novel format!

All in all, I enjoyed the conclusion of this series, I just wish the novel had a bit more action to it.

That concludes my review for Only Human by Sylvain Neuvel!

Thank you so much for reading and don’t forget to follow my blog as well as my other social media sites.
