Th1rt3en by Steve Cavanaugh

Hello everyone!

I am back with another blog post. It’s been a busy busy week and I unfortunately haven’t had enough time to write anything. It’s getting pretty discouraging, but I’m trying to soldier through!

Currently, I am at work on my night shift trying to write as many blog posts as I can!

This ARC was provided to my by Hatchette Canada! I’d like to thank them for the ARC and just clarify that receiving this book doesn’t effect my review of it at all!

Alright, let’s jump into it!

Goodreads Rating: 4.46/5
Pages: 356 Pages
Publisher: Orion
Published: January 25th, 2018
Genre: Thriller and Mystery

They were Hollywood’s hottest power couple. They had the world at their feet. Now one of them is dead and Hollywood star Robert Solomon is charged with the brutal murder of his beautiful wife.

This is the celebrity murder trial of the century and the defence want one man on their team: con artist turned lawyer Eddie Flynn.

All the evidence points to Robert’s guilt, but as the trial begins a series of sinister incidents in the court room start to raise doubts in Eddie’s mind.

What if there’s more than one actor in the courtroom?

What if the killer isn’t on trial? What if the killer is on the jury?

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

This novel was one that I wasn’t sure I’d want to pick up. It took me so long to read it and I was slightly regretting my decision to request it.

I am so glad that I did. This novel was such a fun and exciting read. It included two of my favourite things, lawyers and serial killers!

I found the writing in this novel to be so entrancing. The chapters were alternating between the POV of the serial killer and the POV of the defence attorney for the man who was charged with the crime.

Reading from the perspective of the serial killer reminds me of the book You by Caroline Kepnes. That novel was another one that I found terrifying to read and follow. This novel was the same, I found the chapters from the POV of the killer to be so entrancing and scary to follow. It was great.

I loved Eddie Flynn, he was such an amazing protagonist to follow and it was incredibly interesting to understand the inner workings of working as a defence lawyer and being good enough to win.

I understand that this novel was part of a larger series, but I do think that you can read these novels in any order. I didn’t feel like I was missing out on any details, so that was great.

All in all, this novel was one that I found myself flying though and enjoying every minute of it. I definitely didn’t see a lot of twists coming. You’re bound to be surprised throughout this novel, and it just makes you more excited to see what’s going to come next!

Definitely pick this novel up if you have the chance, you won’t regret it!

That concludes my review for Th1rt3en by Steve Cavanaugh!

Thank you so much for reading and don’t forget to follow my blog as well as my other social media sites!

Until next time,
