Welcome back to yet another Weekly Favourites post. This is one series that I feel like I’m not very consistent with, but it’s one that I thoroughly enjoy writing. This series makes me settle down and reflect on the last week and pick out a couple of my favourite things from that week, whether they be products I’m loving, things I’m loving online, or books I’m loving.
Therefore, I want to remain more on schedule with this post and be better about posting it. Here’s to hoping that actually happens!
This last week I had 5 teeth taken out of my mouth. Surgically of course…
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed as well as one of my molars that never ended up coming up out of my gums.
That surgery went perfectly, but of course for the rest of the week I was drowsy and in pain and could only eat mashed potatoes and pudding. Oh, and ice cream. Lot’s of ice cream.
This surgery was one that happened very out of the blue, due to my break from school, so I was upset to see it would really mess up my participation in Wonder Week (a read-a-thon I started). Despite me being drowsy for the first couple days, I was able to keep up with my reading and actually take part in the read-a-thon.
Having this surgery done meant that I had a lot of time to watch Youtube and Netflix. Two of my favourite things, so you’ll see some of that in my favourites list.
Alright, let’s get into it.
Jamie Paige and Allana Davison
These two are Canadian Beauty Youtuber’s that I’ve enjoyed watching for the past week. I am someone who will go back and forth between loving makeup and wanting to purchase every kind of makeup product, to not caring and just enjoying my bare skin.
Obviously right now I’m the former.
Originally I only followed Allana Davison (who lives in Vancouver just like me), but whilst on my deep dive of her Youtube channel, I found Jaime Paige and fell in love with her videos.
Jamie is such a down to earth person to watch, and I love how she does all her makeup, so that’s a definite plus.
These two are amazingly unique Youtubers that know their shit, so I definitely recommend you watch them!
Scandal is a show that I started watching when it first came out. I’m a big fan of Grey’s Anatomy, so obviously anything that Shonda Rhimes puts out will be something that I’d love to watch.
Unfortunately somewhere along the way I stopped watching Scandal and fell out of the loop, which lead to this re-watch.
I have a love and hate relationship with this show and it’s characters. The first couple seasons, like any show, are my favourite. I loved the fast pace and I loved all the characters, but the later the seasons get, the less I tend to like the show.
I don’t want to go too in depth into what my issues with the show are, but just note that if you do decide to watch this show, there are a lot of characters and plot lines that you’re not going to love and you just have to deal with it.
I also received my new phone this week and it was an amazing new addition to my life. This phone is one that I’ve been looking forward to receiving for such a long time and I couldn’t wait to get it.
I have been an iPhone user for such a long time now and making this switch was definitely a hard move for me, seeing as how I own a Macbook and an iPad Pro. I am a big Apple user and it’s hard to take a step away from it, but I’m so happy that I did.
I didn’t realize how much functionality I was missing by being an Apple user. This Samsung phone is such an amazing phone that has so many functions that seem out of the realm of possibility for Apple at this moment.
Therefore, having this phone for the past week or so was such a lovely experience and I’m so happy that I made this decision.
Chocolate Ice Cream
This week has been the week of chocolate ice cream. Not any chocolate ice cream, but the bad ice cream that you get in those huge tubs for like $5. Yes, that ice cream.
This ice cream has been a life saver for when my mouth is in severe pain and I can’t make it go away. I love the cold touch it brings to my mouth in the areas my doctor cut open, and it always tastes amazing.
Literally the only thing I can eat.
I ate so many packs of mashed potatoes it’s not even funny. By the time I can eat other foods I will definitely be sick of the taste.
I have nothing else to say.
Kiehl’s Facial Moisturizer
Recently my face has been getting so dry and flakey, and it’s been getting on my nerves, so I had to find a solution without having to go purchase some expensive cream that doesn’t even work. Therefore I dug into the depths of my bathroom drawers and found a sample for the Kiehl’s Facial Moisturizer.
This cream changed my life.
I used it after cleansing my face one night and the next morning my face felt as smooth as a baby’s bottom. I got two uses out of the sample, and even when I had used it those two times, I had so much left (I just felt gross using an open sample more so I threw it away).
For this cream you only need a small bit for it to cover your face because it is so thick and creamy. It puts a really amazing layer all over your skin and it feels so good and luxurious.
Alright guys, that’s about all I have for you today!
Thank you so much for reading and don’t forget to follow my blog as well as my other social media sites linked in the side bar.
Until next time,
