Hey guys, so October was finally the end to my dreaded reading slump (I hope) and I had an okay reading month. My reading did increase more near the end of the month so I didn’t manage to read too many novels, but despite that I’m very happy with what I did accomplish this month!
I hope you enjoy my October wrap up!
⭐ ⭐
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
Goodreads Rating: 3.98/5
Pages: 326 Pages
Published: September 20th, 2016
Publisher: Jimmy Patterson
Genre: Historical, Young Adult
Plot:
Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.
Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.
Wrap Up:
This novel was one I partially started before my reading slump hit, and then finally built up the effort to continue on with it. Overall it wasn’t what I expected it to be, and that made me not enjoy it as much.
There were so many things I wished happened instead of what did happen. If you’d like to know more of my thoughts check out my review!

The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson
Goodreads Rating: 4.32/5
Pages: 470 Pages
Published: July 7th, 2015
Publisher: Henry Holt and Co.
Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult
Plot:
Refer to The Kiss of Deception to avoid spoilers about the second novel!
Wrap Up:
This novel was a sequel that I was waiting to read until the third book came out in paperback. I am so glad that I got to continue on with this series. I have to say that there were parts which I think could have been improved on and also parts in which I thought the writing was not as great as it could be, but despite that it was a solid sequel.
I also have a review up for this novel if you’d like to know more of my thoughts!
Those are the two novels I managed to get to this month. I know it doesn’t match up to what I manage to do most months, but for me after a huge reading slump it is quite the accomplishment.
Be sure to comment the list of novels you’ve read this past month! I’d love to know.
I hope you enjoyed my wrap up, don’t forget to follow my blog as well as any other social media sites that I have in the side bar.
Thank you so much for reading.
Until next time,

I only managed to read 2 books this month as well. I was in a funk this month so I took a little break from all things bookish. My favorite read of the month was Watching Glass Shatter by James J. Cudney.
